Dr. Medhat Fahmy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Society for Quality, stressed that the certificate is a practical step towards integrating the concepts of quality and governance within the institutional structure of the private sector, and that the partnership with the Misr El Kheir Foundation represents an experience that can be built upon in the Arab world to develop community organizations.
Dr. Walid Sayed Ali, Director of the Institutional Development Department for NGOs at the Misr El Kheir Foundation, spoke, noting that the increase in the number of applicants for the certificate reflects a growing awareness among civil society organizations of the necessity of adhering to governance and quality standards, as this is an essential gateway to achieving effectiveness and sustainability and enhancing the confidence of society and the state in NGOs.
This activity comes within the framework of implementing the community vision document for developing the civil society organizations sector, which was launched by the Misr El Kheir Foundation through the Arab Center for Sustaining Civil Work in May 2025, which represents a strategic road map to enhance the role of civil society. The vision included a number of pivotal directions, goals and initiatives, including building strong organizations that adopt quality standards and activate corporate governance systems, as this is an essential input for enhancing effectiveness and ensuring sustainability.
